Growing up in Colorado I never appreciated the beauty, so I try to come back to visit anytime I can. So it was easy to say 'YES' when I was invited to come see what #VailSummer was all about. We stayed at the historic Lodge at Vail which made it easy to get around both Vail and Lionshead.

LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN!

After a scenic ride up the Eagle Bahn Gondola to Adventure Ridge, you start seeing all the fun things to do:

REBOUND TRAMPOLINE
Catch some air at 10,000 feet with a waist harness attached to bungee cords.
CLIMBING WALL
Put a harness on and scramble up a climbing wall located at 11,000 feet.
AERIAL ROPES COURSE
Choose your own adventure with one of Vail Mountain’s High Ropes Challenge Courses. It’s a fun and challenging activity for the whole family.
ZIPLINE
The four-line, 1,200-foot zipline tour is a new and unique way to see the mountain from an entirely different point of view.
SUMMER TUBING
A new take on the mountain tubing adventure, summer tubing provides guests the
opportunity to feel the thrill of the mountain just like winter tubing on snow.

Coming in 2016- Epic Discovery

Designed to connect both kids and adults with the national forests in an active, fun and engaging way. Vail Resorts will work with The Nature Conservancy to bring scientific content to the eco-discovery experiences and will be contributing one percent of all summer lift ticket and activity revenue toward forest restoration projects.

The primary elements of Vail’s Epic Discovery plans include:

Micro-Interpretive Centers for Education: Integrated with trails and activities around the mountain, these interpretive experiential centers will provide guests with hands-on information and activities about forest health, wildlife and the mountain geography of the White River National Forest.

Game Creek and Front Side Zip Line Tours: The ultimate outdoor experiences, these guided tours will immerse guests in the forest habitat with an array of zip lines and aerial bridges. Guests will learn about the mountain ecosystem while working their way through each course’s challenges.

More Hiking and Mountain Biking Trails: Comprehensive interpretive and directional signage will be integrated to encourage more hiking and mountain biking across Vail Mountain and descending into the villages below.

Family Forest Adventure Park: A playground of rope challenges and bridges to introduce young children to the wonders of the forest.

Forest Flyer™: An alpine coaster that runs on raised rails, the Forest Flyer™ winds its way down the mountain, following the natural contours of the landscape through the forest.

Wildwood Observation Deck: A panoramic viewing balcony nestled within awe-inspiring scenery of alpine forests, meadows of wildflowers and wildlife.

Vail is so beautiful in the winter and summer but with all these new activities, I hope to bring my daughter back next summer for an amazing adventure!

Vail is located (in Colorado USA) 100 miles (160 km) west of Denver, 140 miles (230 km) east of Grand Junction and is easily accessible via the Eagle County Regional Airport, located 35 miles (56 km) to the west – all along the Interstate 70 corridor.
